We seek an experienced Software Engineer to join our content team as a content developer. This role will appeal to you if you are an experienced, seasoned cloud developer who is also a proven performer in writing and recording online training and creating hands-on labs. We are looking for an experienced programmer to write and record online video courses on modern programming topics. To be considered for this role you could be an expert in Full Stack, Front-End or Back-End technologies. The ideal experience would be proven business examples developing in any combination of Python, Java, .Net, Go, Node.js, Rust, SPA, Microservices, SQL/NoSQL, React, TypeScript, AngularJS, managed and delivered using CI/CD pipelines.

What’s important to us is that you are a proven leader in developing cloud-based applications and you are comfortable explaining and showing how you built applications using recordings and labs. We create content to show customers how to select and use cloud services to build applications faster, smarter and in line with their own customer requirements.

The content you will be creating needs to demonstrate practical coding examples as well as explain theory - so you need to be clear, concise and confident with demonstrating your expertise of code concepts in recorded courses, in labs, and occasionally webinars. You need to be comfortable creating technical documentation that explains and informs students how to become an expert coder themselves.

As a content creator you need to be able to organize, write and record yourself delivering programming content clearly and concisely. Working examples of you doing this will be helpful so please include them in your application if you can. The ideal scenario is where you can talk through how you built a customer-facing application. How you engineered the application. Why you made the code choices you made.

There is an opportunity to lead our software engineering domain, so ideally we want to talk to experienced coders who can share and show how they went about building an application and explaining why they built things the way they did so others can learn from that experience.

Skills Required:

• You need to be fluent in English with a credible track record in enterprise software development. The ideal experience is demonstrable through business applications built for enterprise customers at scale. Ideally built using NoSQL database services or interfacing with SQL backends.

• If your strength is on the back-end: Strong understanding of server-side technologies such as: application frameworks, relational and NoSQL databases; Advanced knowledge and experience with design patterns and modern web patterns: AJAX, RESTful APIs, SOA, WebSocket, client-side rendering, etc.; Understanding client-side technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Web Components;
  
  
• If your strength is on the front-end: Basic CSS3 knowledge; Very proficient in Javascript: ES7, Webpack, React, AngularJS, Vue.js; TypeScript. Experience with SPA (single page applications) and SSR (server side rendering) with React (or any other modern JS framework).

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a sense of urgency and integrity.

A few other skills that would be considered a bonus

• Experience with Git workflows and Git-based platforms.
• Familiar with cloud platforms: AWS, Google Cloud, Azure.
• Familiar with container based technologies (Docker, and Kubernetes).
• Familiar with cloud architecture patterns and best practices for designing highly available, scalable and secure systems.
• Experience creating training content for programming, development, or software.
